MIXING CHAMBER

The mixing chamber consists of two parts made of pure copper.

  • Details:
    • Volume: RMC=??? cmĀ³.
    • Heater: RMC=440.
    • Cooling power: see here.

Mixing Chamber Heater

  • The mixing chamber heater is connected with BOX II X2:(1/4)(I),(2/3)(U).
  • RMC=445 , measured via four-wire technique and Keithley 2601, date=12. Dec. 2011.

Mixing Chamber Shield

MC Shield with two copper coils.

There is a radiation shield screwed on the upper part of the mixing chamber to prevent parasitic heating of the copper-stage based on thermal radiation emitted by the still shield (700mK). Two coils made of copper wire are wounded on the mixing chamber shield at the level of experimental platform of the first and of the second nuclear stage. But until now their meaning is not clear.

  • Rcoil=2.96k at RT, directly measured -without filter box.
  • Connected to heat sink D (15/16) X9:(2/3).
  • At 4.2K and through filter box Rcoil=4.9k (Rfilter~100).
